Drag The Musical, Three Houses, Our Class Lead Lucille Lortel Nominations

The 2025 Lucille Lortel Award nominations were announced April 2. The nominations were read by Francis Jue (Yellow Face) and Krysta Rodriguez (Smash). Leading the nominations were Drag: The Musical and Dave Malloy’s Three Houses, which received the most musical nominations with a total of six each, including Outstanding Musical.

The Best Musical nominees include the currently running Drag: The Musical; Luis Quintero’s Medea: Re-Versed; Marla Mindelle, Jonathan Parks-Ramage, and Philip Drennen’s The Big Gay Jamboree; Dave Malloy’s Three Houses; and the Lazours’ We Live in Cairo.

The 2024–25 Off-Broadway season featured 70 eligible productions, 32 of which were recognized with a nomination in at least one category.

This year’s Lortels are considering Off-Broadway productions that opened between April 1, 2024, and March 31, 2025. The awards are voted on by representatives of the theatrical unions, the Off-Broadway League, theatre journalists, academics, and other Off-Broadway professionals. There were 70 eligible productions in the season.
